It literally is ‘the most wonderful time of the year’ in my books because the festive season means that you can turn up the volume on your party looks and if the fashion week runways are anything to go by we’ll be cranking it up to the max. Saint Laurent and Gucci featured 1970’s inspired disco looks with glitter slouch boots and diamante encrusted shoes and bags, with high shine fabrics and metallic’s galore if you like to make an entrance the discotastic look is for you.
Marks and Spencer Limited Edition Dress £89 and Belt £15
Stylist Top Tip – If head to toe glitter is not for you why not add an element of the trend with one sparkly piece, try this fab glitter one shoulder body which fully embraces the Saint Laurent look with these tassel trousers.

House of Fraser Biba Tassel Trousers £59
Take your daywear look to an evening one with my favourite glitter accessories, simply add a glitter boot or bag to create a stand out look. These boots by Peacocks are so close to the Saint Laurent boots worn by Rhianna you’d be a fool not to grab a pair. I’ll be styling mine with black denim and an oversized jumper for daytime and a silk lace camisole to dance the night away.
Peacocks Boots £40
There are some beautiful colour alternatives to black this season, navy peony is elegant and rich in colour and tawny port is a sophisticated shade of burgundy both featuring heavily at New York Fashion week. Both offer a fab alternative to black as a neutral base colour from which to style your look, much less harsh against winter fatigued pale skin, both will add warmth illuminating your skin tone.
Style Tip – Debenhams have some fabulous designer brands that you may not find in store. Search the website for brands like Siren by Giles aka Giles Deacon and Studio by Preen aka Preen by Thornton Bregazzi. Utilise the click and collect service to ensure you stand out from the crowd in some designer inspired looks.

I’m excited to see the breadth of colours available this season, black is so draining on the skin especially at this time of year. I’m pleased to see more navy pieces in the shops, which will add warmth while remaining chic and classy. I love this disco inspired jumpsuit and feather cape combo, add a pop of colour with a bold box bag or make the look more sophisticated with gold or silver sandals and jewellery.

If you prefer a subtle approach to your evening wear, then why not look for texture to create the wow factor, jacquard can create a real fashion moment in a stylish understated way. Look for gold detailing in brocade or jacquard fabrics, metallic threads add sparkle and shine without the sequins. Don’t be afraid to clash your metallics either I love the fact that you could style both silver and gold with this Monsoon dress or Primark jacquard suit.

Stylist Hot Tip – Style this fabulous suit several ways to ensure maximum wear. Wear the jacket buttoned up with nothing underneath for a sexy club look with silver heels and gold clutch. An office appropriate look would feature a gunmetal grey fine knit worn with the trousers and burgundy courts. Or for lunch with the girls wear the jacket and camisole with dark blue jeans and burgundy or grey suede boots.
Primark Jacquard Suit – Jacket £25 Trouser £15
