As the weather can’t seem to decide what to do, I feel the need to start grabbing for the winter woollies. Jumpers and layers have been sought out of the depths of the draws as the rumoured Indian Summer seems to have been fictitious.
So while many of you are heading off on holiday and still have some hope of sunshine this year, I’m battening down the hatches for the onslaught of Autumn.
I did an early edit of the Autumn Winter ranges before they hit the high street, however I didn’t cover all my favourite places. So I’ve put together a few pieces from my essential go to places, and taken a look at up coming trends at the same time.
Zara has Autumn all wrapped up and did not disappoint.
I love this high luxe sixties inspired dress. The gold thread detail gives the Dress a real shimmery feel hitting the Glitz & Glam trend, bringing a bit of night time drama to your daytime look.
If the seventies trend is something you aspire to, but don’t have the confidence to go full on Pocahontas then these beautiful suede knee boots with lace detail will nod to it perfectly.
A good quality staple coat which will stand the test of time is the trustworthy trench, get the style and colour right and this piece will last you for years in both Spring and Autumn.
Zara do great trench coat’s and this one is no exception.
During the Autumn I love wearing my leather look (as I can’t afford the real thing) leggings, and this two tone tunic top would look great with them. I am a big fan of mixing fabrics within one piece, so the contrasting fabrics on the front and back appeal to me as does the longer back as it gives me a touch more confidence as it covers my bum in the ever so tight pants ;0)
Yet another boot option for you, but opting for a more classic leather boot with a twist. The magpie that I am was instantly drawn to the gold detail on the heel of this awesome boot
Make the ultimate impact as you walk away. These boots are to die for.
My final pick, and boy it’s been hard as Zara have an amazing Autumn Winter collection and it’s been tough to narrow down my choices for the purpose of the blog, is this cute evening dress.
At £25.99 it’s a bargain, a great little number that you could wear to work with a polo neck or silk blouse underneath which once removed turns it into a cute cocktail dress.
I’ll bring you some more of my favourite pieces from the High Street and online over the next few weeks so that you can start building your shopping lists. Let me know what you think of the pieces chosen.
