John Lewis Autumn Winter Fashion Show

In the week that saw the release of their latest Christmas TV advert I popped along to John Lewis’s to see one of their latest Autumn Winter fashion shows.
If you follow me on Facebook you’ll already know I’m not overly enamoured by the penguin, I do love the subtle reminder by John Lewis that Christmas is not just about presents and eating loads of food. Sadly though it doesn’t give me the same warm, Christmassy feeling that the Bear & The Hare or the Coca-Cola lorry gives me. When the time is right and the TV starts to fill up with Christmas ads I want something that will fill me with a warm, happy glow. While the Penguins (filling the store) did not give me the warm glow, thankfully the clothes and accessories (as always) did get me excited for the forth coming colder weather and party nights.

I picked my top four looks to share with you guys, first up this smart look is a great one for drinks/dinner. The top is by Somerset by Alice Temperley it’s sold out online but available in store. The skirt is by Hobbs and shoes by Dune, the shoes had a flash of patent at the back which the picture doesn’t do justice too.

Berry red’s are a big trend this season, and a particular favourite of mine as it’s a great alternative to black, it offers the safety of a dark colour but with warmth to brighten up your skin. This coat is stunning, from Reiss it’s beautifully tailored as you would expect and very elegant. A great piece for those with a little shaping to their hips or straight, not one to pick if you’re a curvy girl I’m afraid as it will pull open across your hips (sorry xx) The bag is from Dune at £69

The bag was lovely, here is a clearer shot but I think I would have preferred the one below.

I just think Leopard Print lifts an outfit and is slightly more modern than the above option, don’t get me wrong both are fabulous it’s purely a personal preference.

Finally if you like to stand out on the dark cold nights, and prefer a splash of colour to cheer you up through the winter nights you will love this Ted Baker coat and Hobbs Scarf The shocking pink will make sure you are seen and as always it’s beautifully lined with the Opulent bloom print inside.

So while Monty the Penguin may not be filling me with festive cheer, this little lot did and had me busily writing my wish list for Father Christmas. What’s on your wish list? What do you want to find in your stocking this year?
