In my final London Fashion Week blog for the Spring Summer 2015 collections I planned to feature Issa and Christopher Kane, sadly the Issa gallery has been taken down from the London Fashion Week website which has acted as my source for these blogs. Its such a shame as it was by far one of my favoruite collections. Why? Well it included some fab patterns, totally different to your norm of florals or stripes or spots. They used wavy lines and big bold simple floral prints in high contrast colours, which is such a deviation from preious years where ditsy, feminine, fussy prints and textures took centre stage. As I have no pictures to demonstrate my point I’ll move swiftly on but if you see wavy stripes on the High Street next year, they were inspired by the Issa catwalk.
Next up Christopher Kane was a fab show again because it was so different to the normal spring pastels and florals you expect to see in this season. Christopher went with sumptous silks, nautical knots, rich colours including berry reds, the popular pale blue evident in other shows and black. An almost Autumnal feel to the palette with a modern twist on an oriental theme.
Here are my favourite pieces.
Nautical knots over yet more sheer fabrics.
An Oriental feel to this silk jacket and trousers.
Sheer fabrics are one common denominator in so many of the shows. Love the sheer panel, the waist defining stripes and tulle grown up tutu.
An alternative to the traditional suit but still very smart and work appropriate.
Love this! Laura Bailey made comment on this as being her favourite and I have to agree, but not one for the school run. Bra anybody?
And my final piece is this one, yet more sheer fabrics..lets hope next Spring/Summer is a warm one
As I can’t cover Issa as planned I will make one final mention of my favourite man of fashion, the gorgeous Tom Ford.
His collection was a Seventies fest of glam rock flares meets gothic Barbarella with a twist of Keith Richards, I’m not sure I will be rushing out for these looks but as Tom is very cute I’ll forgive him and include my favourite look from his show
To be fair I think Kristen Stewart could rock many of the looks in this collection, and look very cool but for me I think I’ll admire from afar on this occasion.
Thanks again to the British Fashion Council and www.londonfashionweek.co.uk for the beautiful images.
