At last it feels an appropriate time to start talking about party frocks for the forth coming party season. With pay day round the corner and the work do imminent I’m going to post a series of blogs featuring my lust have’s from the high street and with money matters at the fore front of everyone’s minds all choices will be under £100!
First up is River Island, they have some fabulous choices including a range from Lydia Bright of Towie fame. It’s not the type of show I would normally take fashion inspiration from but Lydia is the most stylish of the bunch and is often seen in the Best Dressed columns.
My first choice is from her range as laceis a popular trend for Autumn/Winter
The lace neckline will draw the eye up and away from areas such as boobs and tummies if you prefer them not to be the main focus, and skims beautifully over tummies and hips and makes legs look amazing.
Christmas wouldn’t be Christmas without a bit of sparkle and shine, next up is my fave the short bodycon shimmer dress
This is one for those who are body confident, I would wear this with black opaque tights as bare legs in winter are not a thing. The lines within the sequins are mainly vertical which will draw the eye up and down elongating and slimming your body. If black is not your thing it’s also available in bronze.
If you prefer to cover up and fancy something a bit Jessica Rabbit this navy sequin piece has a plunging back which I think can be a very sexy unexpected feature to a frock.
This is my show stopper and won’t require any further embellishment with jewellery, I’d keep accessories simple to allow the dress to scream volumes.
If you like sparkles but aren’t keen on the fit of the bodycon dresses then this embellished shift dress is perfect.
This dress will not be as clingy as the bodycon, it is perfect for those with little shape to their hips (or a straight silhouette) as it will follow the line of your body. The sheer arms give those less confident about upper arms some coverage and the embellishment provides the Christmas glitz.
Finally this Great Gatesby inspired maxi dress will elongate and draw attention to legs with the sequin detail and split.
There will likely be a common theme to these Yuletide blogs so I will warn you now, if you can’t go all out Glitz and Glamour at Christmas when can you…So expect MORE sequins, shimmer and shine…
